I used to live up with the saying “everything happens for a reason”.
I lost something? Oh maybe it’s not for me or something else better is coming.
I didn’t get the dream job? Maybe I’m not ready for it.
I had my heartbroken? Oh maybe it’s another lesson and people just really come and go.
Did I just give up? Hell not!
I believed in this saying and used it as a reason after all the attempts of doing what it takes but still ends up unsuccessful.
I’m now in my 30’s and I’m just so glad I lived my life doing everything I ever wanted. It may seem to be selfish if you look at it the other way especially with the culture that we have as Filipinos.
“Bumawi ka mana data sa magulang mo!”
“Dapat mabigyan mo tuna ng magandang buhay ang magulang/pamilya mo”
“Sila muna dapat bago ikaw!”
“Maswerte ka kasi maganda trabaho mo, ikaw lang ang pag-asa ng pamilya”
Don’t get me wrong, it’s a beautiful thing to be able to provide for your family/others. But that would be temporary. And it has its own consequences.
It’s okay if that’s what you really wanted to but what if you have a different life you wanted to build for yourself?
Reaching this stage of my life made me realize how important it is to build the early years of YOUR life with abundance.
What does it mean living in ABUNDANCE?
More than enough knowledge, more than enough strength, more than enough wisdom, more than enough love and respect for yourself.
That’s the only way you’ll be able to share more and live a “no regrets” life when you reached your 30’s.
There’s nothing wrong with filling yourself up first. In the end, you’ll see the difference!
Take that course you wanted!
Eat healthy without depriving yourself with the better options!
Invest in hobbies that helps you build discipline and confidence!
Explore the country or better yet, the world!
Once you were able to build that honed version of yours, then you’ll be able to inspire others so they can work on theirselves as well and be the better version of themselves.
